Plumb Medic comes through for the win...again! My water heater was old and the piping was wonky. Nick installed a better water heater and brought all the wonky stuff up to code. I always recommend Plumb Medic for plumbing needs. They're awesome!
Cain Was super friendly and knowledgeable. He stayed late to get the job done and did great work Will Call again if needed and would definitely recommend
Plumb Medic is my go to for water leaks and other plumbing issues. I have used them on multiple occasions to solve tricky issues that are typical of older homes. They were quick to come out and assess and quick to complete the project. Cameron, Cole, and Corey were polite, diligent, and frankly good at what they do. Happily recommend Plumb Medic to others and will use them should I have a new issue arise.
HIGHLY recommend! So professional!! Arrived on time, great communication and went above and beyond!!! Very reasonably priced, too!!
Thank you so much for the great service. I called that morning because my toilet was continuously running, and you came out that day. You diagnosed the problem as too much pressure and fixed the problem, and got me back in code. Your professionalism and attention to detail are very much appreciated. I will definitely recommend you to anyone that needs a professional and reasonably priced plumbing service.
Completely thrilled with the service and the prompt responses. I called on the weekend and received a call back within 24 hours. They were honestly, professional and got us up to code! Thank You!
Nick replaced a wax ring on my son’s toilet. He said he was very friendly and did a great job!
I rely on reviews a good bit but rarely write them. The glowing reviews are what led me to call Cameron/Plumb Medic LLC to get an estimate for installing a new Toto toilet that I ordered and had sitting in boxes in my hallway to replace my 43 year old Briggs toilet, yes 43 years ! Cameron returned my call immediately, was very knowledgeable and gave me a price that beat 2 other local plumbing companies even offering a discount for 2 toilets at once. I only had the one but am expecting delivery tomorrow for the second one. Cain and Eric came the next day to install my toilet. They were down to earth, easy to talk to , professional hardworking guys that knew their stuff! Plus, they are animal lovers like myself. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure having them at my house. They installed my new Toto and I plan to try to request them for the second Toto install. After using numerous plumbers/plumbing companies through the years I am happy and relieved to have found Plumb Medic and plan on making them my "go to " plumbers. This may sound odd but I do love my Toto !!! Barb Above review was several years ago. This 2nd review is from March 13 2026. Cameron and Corey came and installed a new Bradford White water heater for me. They did an exceptional job with attention to detail. Cameron noticed water seeping from an old connection above his work, accessed it and made the repair at no extra cost. I asked about replacing my 40 plus year old handle on the main water shut off to house at back of basement. Cameron was thoughtful enough to suggest that he could move it lower so I could reach it without a ladder -hopefully I won’t ever need to. He replaced it with a ball valve handle which is superior to the old school round handle that exterior faucets use and gave me a discount since they were installing the water heater. I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience. Plumb Medic , Cameron and crew are the BEST.
As always they come through with a reasonable price and get the work done. I have used them multiple times and they will always be my first call.
Cameron and team did excellent and extensive work through our house. They cared for our home like it was theirs. Highly recommend.
I am a repeat client. They are very professional. They quickly diagnose problems and present alternative solutions to each issue. They are a pleasure to work with.
Cameron and Corey were professional, freindly, knowledgeable and honest. I told them the issues I was having and knew exactly what to do to fix the problem. They don’t cut corners, and fix the problem RIGHT , and take pride in their work.
Cain and Eric were schedule to come and replace a weird leaking outdoor faucet and replace some stuff in a bathroom. They did this in the usual timely and professional manner. They noticed an indoor leak and opened the wall to find a bigger problem. Thank goodness and a mitigation company was called. At the same time I had a sewer problem and they quickly got Cole out to ream and camera the sewer. Highly recommend this service.
Called Plumb Medic after I got a 1300 water bill assuming I had a leak. Cole came out in a POURING rainstorm. Checked our meter outside getting soaked several times after shutting off house water, and came back to tell me we had no leak and there was no charge. I was shocked he would come out and not charge me. I will use Plumb Medic in the future for every plumbing issue. That’s amazing customer service.
Fantastic customer service! Excellent communication, and follow up, prompt, professional and very helpful and patient answering my questions. I highly recommend them without reservation!
We encountered the dreaded, dirty rusty water in our sinks and tubs and knew we needed to replace our water heater. I called Plumb Medic and after a brief discussion we were scheduled for a new install 2 days later. They were on time, on budget and the area was spic-and-span when they finished up. The quality of the joints and connections of the new copper piping needed was impressive - it was like a work of art. They were friendly, professional, honest and super easy and comfortable to do business with. I can highly recommend Plumb Medic without reservation!!
We had a fantastic experience with them. They were prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They quickly diagnosed the issue, explained everything clearly, and completed the repair efficiently. The pricing was fair with no surprises. It’s hard to find reliable service these days, but they absolutely delivered. Highly recommend for any plumbing needs!
Clean install. On time. Professional and fair Price. Highly recommended
I definitely recommend Plumb Medic. Water heater finally broke and they came out and replaced it the same day. Good pricing and great customer service
Cole was capable, quick, and knowledgeable. He did solid work for a good price.
Plumb Medic was great to work with. We had a water issue and they came out quickly, figured out exactly what was going on, and explained everything clearly along the way. The technician was patient, knowledgeable, and really on top of his work. He also referred us to a water remediation company to dry out the affected areas, which made the whole situation much easier to handle. I really appreciated the professionalism and friendliness they showed throughout the process. Overall, a very good experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them.
The entire experience was great from start to finish. It started with a phone call with Cameron. He gave me an estimate and when I mentioned I was getting estimates from other businesses he provided me with several questions to ask them. Next step was an in person estimate. Cole came out, gave an estimate then emailed me what we had discussed. When Cole came out with one other person (I forget his name) they were early, finished the work soner than they said, cleaned up then the bill was what we were quoted. Great service, great people and reasonable prices. I would recommend them to everyone adn will use the again when we need them.
I called Plumb Medic after discovering water in my garage. The owner, Cameron, came to my home at 8:30pm and detected a slab leak behind the water heater. Repairs were made the next day. Cameron is very personable and professional. I highly recommend him and his team for all plumbing needs.
Such great service. Knowledgeable, friendly and honest. Will definitely call them anytime I need a plumber.
Have been using Plumb Medic last 2 years and very satisfied. Cole was excellent. Strongly recommend!
Plumb Medic is absolutely the best. I’ve used them for multiple services and repairs, and every experience has been consistently excellent. Their communication is clear and timely, and the entire team is professional from start to finish. They’re honest, knowledgeable, and I always feel confident the work is done right. Truly the only plumbing company I trust and continue to use. Highly recommend!
Quick and responsive, friendly and helpful. Best plumber experience ever. 100% recommend.
Cameron and the team did an awesome job with our replumb. In and out in a day, competitive pricing, and they were great to work with throughout the process. Highly recommend
One of the most professional and efficient companies I’ve ever worked with. They came in and diagnosed the problem and got to work immediately. I can’t recommend them enough.
I would highly recommend!!! Cain and Eric went way above and beyond to help us out in our situation. They were very professional, knowledgeable, kind and answered all of our questions and concerns! I can not recommend them enough!
Cameron and his team have helped me out many times over the years, from leaks to running toilets and most recently, the replacement of my water heater. They’re always prompt, thorough and super respectful, their quotes are clear and transparent and they do a wonderful job explaining everything so you know exactly what you’re getting. I never feel like I’m being upsold or pressured into anything, it genuinely feels like they care - like it’s a friend or family member helping out. Their work is great too! Will hire again and again 😁
Cain and his brother Eric did an amazing job. I called Cameron and he was able to get someone out quickly despite a busy schedule. Honest, professional, on time, and no unnecessary repairs. Plus excellent pricing. All around the best —the only plumbing company I recommend.
They came when they said they would and the plumber was very nice and took care of it in the most efficient way possible, so there wasn't any superfluous charges. I highly recommend this company!
Reliable, clean, quick, fair priced. Thank you Plumb Medic for helping us! 🙂
Cameron and Corey did a fantastic job replacing my tankless hot water heater. Everything was explained to me.
We have used Plumb Medic several times over the years for our plumbing needs. Cameron and his team have always been honest and professional. Recently we had a toilet installed in which Cameron himself came out and installed. He arrived within the window he promised given the busy holiday season, which is extremely rare these days. There were some defects with toilet we purchased from Home Depot, which caused the install to take longer than expected. He had mentioned prior to coming out that his kid had a Christmas program that day, but should be able to install the toilet in time. Due to the toilet defect I’m pretty sure he missed his kid’s performance, which killed me inside. I wished he would have told me, because I would have told him to go and come back tomorrow. This just proves Cameron’s dedication to his craft and his customers. We appreciate him and his family for his dedication and highly recommend him and his team to anyone who has plumbing needs. Thank you again Cameron and we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Great response, communication, work and reasonable price. On site within a couple of hours for a service main break. Ask for Cole.
The gentleman that came was awesome! He explain everything he was looking at and how much it would cost beforehand. He told me if it was too much that he could break it down to what should he done first. He worked office fly and checked everything to make sure all was done correctly
Cameron and team are great guys and have always been good to finish projects and help in emergencies. I have used them to finish out a laundry room project, replace toilets, replace a water heater and fix a mainline break to my house. They have always been quick and fair! I have tried several companies and plumbmedic has always treated my emergencies as if it was their own home emergencies. Can’t go wrong with this company.
Great experience! Cole from plumb medic did a thorough assessment of the issue and explained everything in details.
Cam and Jesse went above and beyond for us. From the initial call they were professional and courteous while walking me through what needed to be done on my basement rough in. The bid was very fair and they showed up on time and completed the job quicker than I expected. No corners were cut and the job was meticulously done. They also replaced my hot water heater. I can’t say enough about the Plumb Medic. It is very refreshing to work with a company like theirs. I highly recommend Plumb Medic for any of your plumbing needs.
Used them 3 times, always show up on time, fixed the issue and their prices are great.

Gas Line Installation in Woodstock, GA
Proper gas line sizing is the foundation of safe, efficient installation. Each gas appliance has a specific BTU rating that indicates its heating capacity and gas consumption. Total BTU demand for all appliances on a system determines minimum pipe sizes. Pipe length, number of fittings, and pressure available all factor into sizing calculations. Undersized pipes cause appliances to operate poorly, with weak burner flames and reduced heating capacity. Plumb Medic uses manufacturer sizing charts and field experience to specify correct pipe sizes. Adequate sizing ensures every appliance receives proper gas supply under all operating conditions.
Black iron pipe has been the traditional gas line material for decades. Threaded connections create reliable seals when properly cut, threaded, and assembled with appropriate sealant. Black iron handles high pressures and harsh conditions well, making it suitable for main runs and high-demand applications. Installation requires specific tools including pipe threaders, vises, and pipe wrenches. Each joint must be inspected for proper thread engagement and sealant application. Plumb Medic uses black iron when applications call for it, typically for service entrance lines and major distribution runs.
CSST, or corrugated stainless steel tubing, has become the most popular flexible gas line material. The flexible design routes through framing easily, reducing the number of fittings needed compared to rigid pipe. TracPipe is one of the leading CSST brands and requires manufacturer-specific certification for installation. Our certification ensures we follow all installation requirements, including proper bonding to address lightning safety concerns. CSST cuts installation time significantly while providing reliable gas service. Plumb Medic uses CSST extensively in residential applications.
Bonding requirements for CSST address electrical safety concerns specific to this material. CSST can be damaged by lightning strikes if not properly bonded to the home’s grounding system. The 2020 NEC and current gas codes require bonding from CSST to the grounding electrode system using #6 AWG copper conductor. Our TracPipe certification covers proper bonding installation. Skipping bonding is a serious safety violation that creates lightning damage risk. Plumb Medic completes bonding on every CSST installation as standard practice.
Pressure testing verifies installation integrity before gas is turned on. New installations require pressure testing at higher than normal operating pressure to confirm leak-free performance. Test pressure typically runs 3 PSI minimum or higher depending on jurisdiction. Tests must hold pressure for specific minimum durations, typically 15 minutes minimum, sometimes longer. Our team performs pressure tests on every installation and documents results for permit records. Failed tests get tracked back to specific connections, repaired, and retested. We never put a system into service without successful pressure testing.
Appliance-specific connections require correct sizing and shutoff valves. Each appliance needs its own dedicated shutoff valve at or near the connection point. Flexible appliance connectors approved for gas service connect appliances to the rigid gas piping. Different connector types serve different applications, with appropriate length limitations to prevent stress on connections. Plumb Medic uses code-compliant connectors and ensures proper installation per manufacturer specifications. Sediment traps, also called drip legs, get installed at appliance connections to catch debris before it reaches appliance valves.
Code compliance encompasses many specific requirements that protect safety. Pipe support spacing prevents sagging and stress concentration. Penetrations through walls, floors, and ceilings need proper sleeves and fire-stopping. Outdoor installations require corrosion protection on buried portions. Above-ground portions in damp environments need protective coatings. Distance requirements separate gas lines from electrical wiring and other systems. Plumb Medic follows all current Georgia gas codes and local Woodstock requirements. Our installations pass inspection consistently because we install correctly the first time.

Why Hire A Licensed Plumber For Your Gas Line Installation
Gas line installation involves serious safety considerations that demand professional expertise. Plumb Medic technicians are fully licensed, insured, and TracPipe certified for the CSST products we install most often. Improper gas line installation creates leak risks, fire hazards, and explosion potential that DIY work cannot adequately address. Pressure testing, proper sizing, code compliance, and bonding requirements all require specialized knowledge. Manufacturer warranties on flexible gas lines like TracPipe specifically require certified installation to remain valid. Permits and inspections are required for gas line work in nearly every jurisdiction, and unpermitted work creates major problems during home sales. Insurance claims related to unpermitted or unlicensed gas work face frequent denial. Plumb Medic provides upfront pricing, financing through Wisetack, military and senior discounts, and waived diagnostic fees on installations. Calling a licensed plumber for gas work protects your home, your family, and your investment. Gas is not the place to cut corners or save money through DIY work.
Most Common Gas Line Installation Questions
Gas line installation raises important questions about safety, cost, and code requirements. Below are clear answers to the questions Woodstock homeowners ask most often before scheduling installation.
Gas line installation costs vary significantly based on length, complexity, and accessibility. Adding a single new appliance connection from an existing gas line typically runs $400 to $1,200 depending on distance and routing complexity. Running new gas lines through finished spaces costs more due to access challenges, often $800 to $2,500 for typical applications. New construction installations during framing stages cost less per foot since access is easy. Whole-house gas line installation in homes converting from electric ranges from $3,000 to $8,000 depending on size and number of appliances.
Several factors affect the final cost beyond basic installation. Pipe material affects cost, with CSST often faster to install than black iron despite higher material costs. Permit fees vary by jurisdiction but are generally modest. Excavation for buried gas lines adds significant cost when needed for outdoor appliances or service entrance work. Wall and ceiling repair after installations through finished spaces adds to project totals. Pressure testing, inspection coordination, and final commissioning are included in our pricing. Plumb Medic provides upfront pricing before any work begins.
The diagnostic fee is waived when we handle the installation, keeping costs lower. Wisetack financing covers larger gas line projects, making major upgrades affordable through monthly payments. Military and senior discounts apply to gas line work. Permit costs and inspection fees are included in transparent pricing. We never use surprise charges or unexpected fees after work begins. Customers receive clear documentation of all work performed for their records and any future home sale needs. Honest pricing has earned us the Business Rate’s Best of Woodstock Plumber 2025 award.
Yes, gas line installation requires permits in nearly every jurisdiction, including Woodstock and Cherokee County. Georgia state plumbing and gas codes require permits for any new gas line installation, modification, or extension. Permits exist to ensure work is performed by licensed contractors and inspected by qualified officials. The permit process protects homeowners by requiring code-compliant installation and verification through inspection. Skipping permits creates problems during home sales, voids manufacturer warranties on appliances and pipe materials, and may affect insurance coverage if problems occur.
The permit process is straightforward when handled by licensed contractors. Plumb Medic pulls permits as part of our standard installation process. We handle paperwork, fees, and inspection scheduling without requiring homeowner involvement. Inspections typically happen at two stages: rough-in inspection before walls are closed, and final inspection after appliances are connected. Inspectors verify pipe sizing, connection methods, support spacing, bonding, and pressure test results. Our installations consistently pass inspection because we install correctly the first time.
Unpermitted gas work creates significant problems beyond just legal issues. Home buyers and inspectors flag unpermitted gas work, which can derail sales or reduce offers significantly. Insurance companies may deny claims related to fires or explosions if unpermitted gas work is involved. Manufacturer warranties on appliances and gas line materials require professional installation with documentation. The minor cost savings from skipping permits creates major financial risks down the road. Plumb Medic includes permit costs in our pricing, making the right thing also the simple thing. We handle the entire process while you focus on planning the project.
Gas line installation timelines vary widely based on project scope. Adding a single appliance connection from an existing gas line typically takes 2 to 4 hours when accessible. Running new lines through accessible basement or attic spaces usually completes in 4 to 8 hours. Installations through finished walls and ceilings take longer, often a full day for typical residential projects. Whole-house gas line installation in conversions or major renovations can take 2 to 5 days depending on home size. Plumb Medic provides accurate time estimates during scheduling.
Several factors affect actual installation time. Accessibility is the biggest variable, with open framing during construction much faster than retrofit work in finished homes. Pipe material affects time, with CSST flexibility allowing faster installation than rigid black iron in many situations. Number of appliances served affects total work, with more terminations adding time. Permit and inspection scheduling affects total project timeline though not direct installation hours. Wall and ceiling repair after installation through finished spaces adds time at project completion.
Plumb Medic schedules installations efficiently to minimize disruption. Single-day projects start early to allow inspection and gas service the same day when possible. Multi-day projects include planning for gas service interruptions to minimize impact on water heaters, ranges, and other appliances. Emergency situations involving leaks or appliance hookups get priority response. Our trucks carry common materials and fittings, reducing parts run delays. We communicate progress throughout the project, especially for longer installations. The goal is completing each project as quickly as possible without compromising quality.
Gas line installation is one of the most safety-critical home projects, and DIY work is strongly discouraged. The combination of leak potential, explosion risk, and code complexity makes professional installation the only sensible choice. Permits typically require licensed contractors for gas work, and unpermitted DIY installations create major problems. Pressure testing equipment and procedures are essential but require specialized tools and knowledge. Bonding requirements for CSST need specific materials and connections that DIY installers commonly miss.
Several specific risks make DIY gas work particularly dangerous. Improper pipe sizing causes appliances to operate poorly, with weak flames, reduced heating, and potential carbon monoxide production. Failed connections leak gas continuously, creating explosion and asphyxiation risks. Wrong material choices for specific applications fail over time, sometimes catastrophically. Missing sediment traps allow debris to damage appliance valves and regulators. Skipped pressure testing means leaks go undetected until they cause problems. Each error compounds the risk of serious incidents.
Plumb Medic makes professional gas line installation accessible through transparent pricing, financing, and discounts. The diagnostic fee is waived when we handle the work, and our installations are backed by warranty plus permit documentation. Manufacturer warranties on gas appliances and pipe materials specifically require licensed installation. Insurance coverage often depends on professional gas work documentation. The total cost difference between DIY and professional installation is small compared to the risks involved. Calling a licensed plumber is the only responsible choice for gas line work. Our certifications, training, and experience protect your home and family. Gas safety is not optional.
Several gas line materials serve residential applications, each with specific advantages. Black iron pipe is the traditional material, offering strength and long lifespan. Threaded connections provide reliable seals when properly assembled. Black iron handles high pressures well and works in harsh conditions. Installation requires more time than flexible alternatives due to threading and rigid routing requirements. Plumb Medic uses black iron for main runs and high-demand applications where its strengths matter most.
CSST, corrugated stainless steel tubing, has become the most popular flexible gas line material. The corrugated stainless steel tube wrapped in protective yellow or black jacket routes easily through framing without numerous fittings. Brand-specific certification is required for installation, and Plumb Medic holds TracPipe certification for the leading CSST brand. Bonding to the home’s grounding system addresses lightning safety concerns specific to CSST. Installation time is significantly faster than rigid pipe, especially in retrofit applications.
Copper gas tubing is used in some applications, particularly with propane systems. Type L copper specifically rated for gas service must be used; standard plumbing copper is not appropriate for gas. Connections use flare fittings or other approved methods rather than soldered joints. Polyethylene plastic gas lines are used exclusively for buried applications outside the home. Yellow plastic pipe with electrofusion fittings provides reliable underground gas service. Above-ground polyethylene is not permitted for gas service. Plumb Medic uses appropriate materials for each application based on code requirements and best practices.
Several situations call for new gas line installation or extension. Adding new gas appliances like ranges, dryers, water heaters, or fireplaces requires gas service to the appliance location. Converting from electric to gas appliances saves operating costs and improves performance for many homeowners. Building additions or remodeling kitchens often requires gas line modifications to serve new appliance locations. Outdoor gas connections for grills, fire pits, generators, or pool heaters need gas line extensions. Each project has specific requirements addressed during planning.
Several signs indicate existing gas service may need upgrades. Multiple appliances starving for gas during simultaneous operation suggest undersized supply lines. New high-BTU appliances may exceed existing line capacity. Older homes with original installations may have undersized lines compared to modern appliance demands. Tankless water heaters often require larger gas lines than the tank units they replace. Plumb Medic evaluates existing systems during consultation and identifies any needed upgrades. Sometimes a simple line extension solves the problem; other times broader upgrades make more sense.
Plumb Medic provides honest assessments of gas line needs. We evaluate existing systems, calculate appliance demands, and recommend appropriate work. Sometimes minor modifications resolve issues, while other situations require substantial new installation. We explain options clearly with associated costs, helping customers make informed decisions. New construction projects benefit from working with our team during planning to ensure adequate gas service from the start. Renovation projects often discover unexpected gas line needs during demolition. Our experience across hundreds of projects guides accurate planning and pricing.
Quality gas line installations can last 50 years or longer with proper installation and maintenance. Black iron pipe systems often serve homes for the entire life of the structure when properly installed and maintained. Galvanized steel pipes used in some older installations have shorter lifespans, typically 30 to 40 years before corrosion becomes problematic. CSST and copper systems also offer long lifespans when properly installed and protected. Each material has specific care requirements that extend useful life.
Several factors affect actual gas line lifespan. Ground conditions affect buried portions, with corrosive soils accelerating wear on metal lines. Above-ground portions in damp basements or crawl spaces need corrosion protection to prevent rust. Joints and connections often fail before pipe runs themselves, especially threaded connections that develop small leaks over time. Pressure cycling stresses systems, with significant pressure variations causing more wear than steady operation. Plumb Medic identifies aging systems during inspection and recommends replacement when warranted.
Several signs indicate gas lines need attention or replacement. Visible rust or corrosion on metal pipes warrants inspection. Gas smells anywhere in the home require immediate professional attention. Failed pressure tests during routine inspection indicate developing problems. Older installations with galvanized steel often need replacement as corrosion progresses. Plumb Medic evaluates aging systems honestly and recommends appropriate work. Sometimes spot repairs address specific issues, while other situations call for broader replacement. Our recommendations balance cost, safety, and long-term reliability for your specific home.
Yes, gas lines extend outside for various applications including outdoor grills, fire pits, generators, pool heaters, and patio appliances. Outdoor installations require specific considerations for weather exposure, corrosion protection, and code compliance. Buried portions use polyethylene pipe with proper depth coverage to protect from damage. Above-ground portions require corrosion-resistant materials or protective coatings. Connections to outdoor appliances need quick-disconnect fittings appropriate for the application.
Several outdoor gas applications have specific requirements. Outdoor kitchens with grills, side burners, and other gas appliances need adequately sized supply lines with proper shutoff valves at the appliance. Fire pits require regulators and quick disconnects for safe operation. Pool heaters typically have high BTU demand requiring larger supply lines. Whole-house generators often have very high BTU requirements that may exceed existing service capacity. Each application gets evaluated for its specific gas demand and installation requirements.
Plumb Medic handles outdoor gas installations including the trenching, line installation, and final connections. Working with the gas utility for service capacity verification is part of larger projects when needed. Permits and inspections apply to outdoor installations just like indoor work. Our team coordinates the entire project from planning through final inspection. Quick disconnects and proper shutoff valves provide convenient operation while maintaining safety. The waived diagnostic fee on installations, plus financing options, makes outdoor gas projects accessible. Customers can enjoy the convenience and capability of outdoor gas appliances when properly installed.
