Plumb Medic is my go to for water leaks and other plumbing issues. I have used them on multiple occasions to solve tricky issues that are typical of older homes. They were quick to come out and assess and quick to complete the project. Cameron, Cole, and Corey were polite, diligent, and frankly good at what they do. Happily recommend Plumb Medic to others and will use them should I have a new issue arise.

I rely on reviews a good bit but rarely write them. The glowing reviews are what led me to call Cameron/Plumb Medic LLC to get an estimate for installing a new Toto toilet that I ordered and had sitting in boxes in my hallway to replace my 43 year old Briggs toilet, yes 43 years ! Cameron returned my call immediately, was very knowledgeable and gave me a price that beat 2 other local plumbing companies even offering a discount for 2 toilets at once. I only had the one but am expecting delivery tomorrow for the second one. Cain and Eric came the next day to install my toilet. They were down to earth, easy to talk to , professional hardworking guys that knew their stuff! Plus, they are animal lovers like myself. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure having them at my house. They installed my new Toto and I plan to try to request them for the second Toto install. After using numerous plumbers/plumbing companies through the years I am happy and relieved to have found Plumb Medic and plan on making them my "go to " plumbers. This may sound odd but I do love my Toto !!! Barb Above review was several years ago. This 2nd review is from March 13 2026. Cameron and Corey came and installed a new Bradford White water heater for me. They did an exceptional job with attention to detail. Cameron noticed water seeping from an old connection above his work, accessed it and made the repair at no extra cost. I asked about replacing my 40 plus year old handle on the main water shut off to house at back of basement. Cameron was thoughtful enough to suggest that he could move it lower so I could reach it without a ladder -hopefully I won’t ever need to. He replaced it with a ball valve handle which is superior to the old school round handle that exterior faucets use and gave me a discount since they were installing the water heater. I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience. Plumb Medic , Cameron and crew are the BEST.

Cain and Eric were schedule to come and replace a weird leaking outdoor faucet and replace some stuff in a bathroom. They did this in the usual timely and professional manner. They noticed an indoor leak and opened the wall to find a bigger problem. Thank goodness and a mitigation company was called. At the same time I had a sewer problem and they quickly got Cole out to ream and camera the sewer. Highly recommend this service.

Called Plumb Medic after I got a 1300 water bill assuming I had a leak. Cole came out in a POURING rainstorm. Checked our meter outside getting soaked several times after shutting off house water, and came back to tell me we had no leak and there was no charge. I was shocked he would come out and not charge me. I will use Plumb Medic in the future for every plumbing issue. That’s amazing customer service.

We encountered the dreaded, dirty rusty water in our sinks and tubs and knew we needed to replace our water heater. I called Plumb Medic and after a brief discussion we were scheduled for a new install 2 days later. They were on time, on budget and the area was spic-and-span when they finished up. The quality of the joints and connections of the new copper piping needed was impressive - it was like a work of art. They were friendly, professional, honest and super easy and comfortable to do business with. I can highly recommend Plumb Medic without reservation!!

Plumb Medic was great to work with. We had a water issue and they came out quickly, figured out exactly what was going on, and explained everything clearly along the way. The technician was patient, knowledgeable, and really on top of his work. He also referred us to a water remediation company to dry out the affected areas, which made the whole situation much easier to handle. I really appreciated the professionalism and friendliness they showed throughout the process. Overall, a very good experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

The entire experience was great from start to finish. It started with a phone call with Cameron. He gave me an estimate and when I mentioned I was getting estimates from other businesses he provided me with several questions to ask them. Next step was an in person estimate. Cole came out, gave an estimate then emailed me what we had discussed. When Cole came out with one other person (I forget his name) they were early, finished the work soner than they said, cleaned up then the bill was what we were quoted. Great service, great people and reasonable prices. I would recommend them to everyone adn will use the again when we need them.

We have used Plumb Medic several times over the years for our plumbing needs. Cameron and his team have always been honest and professional. Recently we had a toilet installed in which Cameron himself came out and installed. He arrived within the window he promised given the busy holiday season, which is extremely rare these days. There were some defects with toilet we purchased from Home Depot, which caused the install to take longer than expected. He had mentioned prior to coming out that his kid had a Christmas program that day, but should be able to install the toilet in time. Due to the toilet defect I’m pretty sure he missed his kid’s performance, which killed me inside. I wished he would have told me, because I would have told him to go and come back tomorrow. This just proves Cameron’s dedication to his craft and his customers. We appreciate him and his family for his dedication and highly recommend him and his team to anyone who has plumbing needs. Thank you again Cameron and we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Faucet Repair in Woodstock, GA

Faucet problems develop from various causes, and proper diagnosis is the foundation of lasting repair. Most leaks come from worn internal cartridges or seals, which deteriorate from regular use and water mineral content. Drips from the spout typically point to cartridge problems, while leaks at the base suggest O-ring or stem seal failures. Reduced water flow often results from clogged aerators or partial cartridge blockage. Inconsistent temperature on single-handle faucets usually indicates cartridge wear. Strange noises like whistling or screeching point to specific component issues. Each symptom guides the repair approach.

Cartridge replacement is the most common faucet repair we perform. Modern faucets use cartridges that contain the moving parts controlling water flow and temperature. Single-handle faucets typically use one cartridge that handles both flow and temperature mixing. Two-handle faucets have separate cartridges for hot and cold sides. Cartridge styles vary by manufacturer, and identifying the correct replacement requires knowing the brand and model. Plumb Medic technicians carry common cartridges for major brands and can identify obscure ones quickly. Quality replacement cartridges restore proper function and last for years.

O-rings and seals fail over time even when cartridges remain functional. Spout O-rings allow leakage at the base when worn, with water appearing around the faucet body when in use. Stem seals prevent leakage at handles, failing as rubber components age. Diverter valves on faucets with sprayer attachments can develop leaks at internal seals. Each component is small and inexpensive, but proper diagnosis ensures the right part gets replaced. Our technicians carry seal kits for common faucet brands. Small repairs handled correctly prevent larger problems from developing.

Aerator problems are simpler issues that contribute to performance complaints. Mineral buildup inside aerators reduces water flow over time, especially in hard water areas. Cleaning or replacing aerators restores normal flow quickly. Aerators also affect splash patterns and water sound, with damaged screens causing irregular spray. Plumb Medic includes aerator service in repair calls when relevant. Some modern aerators have flow restrictors that may need cleaning rather than replacement. Knowing the difference between flow problems caused by aerators versus internal faucet issues prevents unnecessary repairs.

Compression faucets in older homes use a different repair approach than modern cartridge faucets. These two-handle faucets have washers and seats that wear with use. Worn washers cause spout drips, while damaged seats cause persistent leaks even after washer replacement. Repairing compression faucets requires removing handles and stems, then replacing washers and reseating or replacing seats. Plumb Medic handles compression faucet repairs when customers want to maintain older fixtures. We also discuss replacement options when repair costs approach the price of new fixtures.

Spray heads and pull-down sprayers on kitchen faucets have specific repair needs. Worn spray head buttons or selectors cause spray pattern problems. Internal weights that retract pull-down hoses can come loose, causing the hose to drag or get stuck. Quick connect fittings between hoses and spray heads sometimes leak or fail. Replacement spray heads from manufacturers restore function for many faucets, though obscure brands sometimes have parts availability issues. Our team checks parts availability before recommending repair on older specialty fixtures. Modern faucets generally have better parts support than budget brands.

Touchless and smart faucets add electronic components that occasionally need attention. Battery-powered touchless faucets need fresh batteries periodically, often every 1 to 3 years depending on use. Sensors can become misaligned or fail, requiring adjustment or replacement. Smart faucets with app integration may need software updates or component replacement. Plumb Medic technicians work with electronic faucet components, though some specialty repairs may require manufacturer support. We diagnose electronic issues and recommend appropriate solutions, including replacement when repairs are not cost-effective. Quality manufacturers offer good support for these systems.

Why Hire A Licensed Plumber For Your Faucet Repair

Professional faucet repair saves time, prevents damage, and produces lasting results. Plumb Medic technicians diagnose problems accurately on the first visit, which DIY attempts often fail to do. We carry common parts on every truck, completing most repairs in one visit. Improper repair attempts can damage faucets, supply lines, sinks, and countertops in ways that increase total costs. Manufacturer warranties on premium faucets often require licensed repair work to remain valid. Our team knows the specific quirks of each major brand and model, applying that knowledge to every job. Cross-threaded fittings, broken cartridges, and damaged seats from DIY attempts add to repair costs significantly. The waived diagnostic fee on repairs, military and senior discounts, and Wisetack financing keep professional service affordable. Plumb Medic backs every repair with warranty and documentation. Calling a licensed plumber is the fastest, safest, and most cost-effective response to faucet problems.

Most Common Faucet Repair Questions

Faucet repair questions usually focus on cost, repair versus replacement decisions, and whether DIY makes sense. Below are clear answers to the questions Woodstock homeowners ask most often before scheduling repair service.

Faucet repair costs vary based on the problem, the faucet brand, and parts needed. Simple repairs like cartridge replacement on common brands typically run $150 to $300 including parts and labor. O-ring or seal replacement on the spout or handles often falls in the $125 to $250 range. Aerator cleaning or replacement is one of the simplest jobs, usually $75 to $150. More complex repairs involving multiple cartridges, broken handles, or specialty parts can reach $300 to $500. Plumb Medic provides upfront pricing before any work begins.

Several factors affect the final repair cost. Premium faucet brands sometimes have higher parts costs than standard brands, though parts availability is generally better. Older or discontinued models may have hard-to-find parts that cost more or require sourcing through specialty channels. Multiple problems on the same faucet add labor time but get bundled efficiency in the pricing. Locations with limited access, like under deep undermount sinks, take more time than accessible installations. Each situation gets evaluated honestly during the diagnosis.

The repair-versus-replace decision factors into pricing recommendations. If repair costs approach 50% of replacement cost, replacement often makes more sense. Older faucets with multiple developing problems may justify replacement rather than ongoing repairs. Plumb Medic provides honest assessments of your specific situation. The diagnostic fee is waived when we handle the work, keeping costs lower. Wisetack financing covers larger projects, and military and senior discounts apply to all service. Our recommendations reflect what makes the most sense for your home and budget, not the biggest invoice possible.

Faucet drips from the spout almost always indicate worn internal components. On modern cartridge faucets, the cartridge itself wears over time, allowing water to seep through even when the faucet is closed. Mineral buildup from hard water accelerates cartridge wear and can cause leaks even on relatively new faucets. Compression faucets, common in older homes, drip when the washer at the bottom of the stem wears down. The washer presses against a metal seat to stop water flow, and worn washers fail to seal completely.

Leaks from other parts of the faucet have different causes. Water appearing at the base of the spout typically points to worn O-rings around the spout. The O-rings allow the spout to swivel while sealing against water leakage, and rubber components age over years of use. Leaks at the handle base usually mean worn stem seals or O-rings inside the handle assembly. Connection point leaks under the sink point to supply line problems rather than faucet issues. Each type of leak guides the specific repair approach.

Plumb Medic diagnoses leak sources accurately during repair calls. Many homeowners assume the entire faucet needs replacement when only specific components have failed. A $150 cartridge replacement often resolves a leak that seems like it requires a full $400 faucet replacement. Our technicians explain exactly what is causing the leak and what parts will fix it. We carry common cartridges, O-rings, and seals on every truck. The waived diagnostic fee on repairs, plus warranty coverage on parts and labor, makes professional repair the smart choice. Most leak repairs are completed within an hour of arrival.

Most faucets can be repaired successfully, especially quality fixtures from reputable manufacturers. Major brands like Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Pfister offer parts availability for decades, often providing replacement components for fixtures 20 or 30 years old. Cartridge replacement, O-ring kits, handle assemblies, and spout components are typically available for ongoing repairs. Compression faucets in older homes can be rebuilt with washer kits and seat replacement. The decision between repair and replacement depends on age, condition, and parts availability.

Several situations make replacement more cost-effective than repair. Faucets with multiple developing problems may need significant repair investment that approaches replacement cost. Discontinued models from low-quality brands often have unavailable parts, forcing replacement. Heavy mineral damage to spouts, finishes, or internal passages may not be cost-effective to repair. Older faucets with worn finishes that affect appearance might justify replacement for aesthetic reasons. Faucets that fail to meet current code requirements, like missing anti-scald protection on shower fixtures, sometimes need replacement.

Plumb Medic provides honest repair-versus-replace assessments without bias toward either outcome. We explain the specific problems, repair costs, and replacement alternatives clearly. Customers make the final decision with complete information. Quality fixtures usually justify repair investment many times over. Budget faucets that have failed repeatedly often justify replacement with better-quality fixtures. The diagnostic fee is waived whether you choose repair or replacement, since we handle the work either way. Our goal is the best long-term outcome for your home, not the bigger invoice.

Identifying faucet brand and model helps with parts ordering and repair planning. Most faucets have manufacturer markings somewhere visible, often on the spout, handle, or base. Cold and hot indicators on handles sometimes include brand logos. Lift-up sprayer assemblies often have brand markings on the underside. Underneath the sink, mounting hardware and supply line connections sometimes show brand identification. Original installation paperwork or receipts identify brand definitively, though most homeowners do not have these.

Several physical features help identify brands when markings are unclear. Moen handles typically have a distinctive shape and feel. Delta single-handle faucets often have a specific cartridge style visible after handle removal. Kohler fixtures often have unique design elements that experienced plumbers recognize. Specialty brands like Grohe and Hansgrohe have European design cues that distinguish them from American manufacturers. Plumb Medic technicians have seen thousands of faucets and identify most brands quickly based on physical characteristics.

Plumb Medic helps with brand identification during service calls. Photos sent before the appointment let us research parts availability in advance. Bringing the original installation paperwork helps if you have it. Our technicians arrive with common cartridges and parts for major brands, ready to handle most repairs without parts runs. Specialty brands or unusual models occasionally require parts ordering, though we work to identify these issues during the initial visit. The diagnostic fee is waived when we complete the repair, regardless of how many visits parts identification requires. We make the process as smooth as possible.

Low water pressure at a single faucet most often comes from clogged aerators. Mineral deposits from hard water accumulate inside aerator screens over time, restricting flow. Removing the aerator and cleaning it with vinegar or replacing it entirely usually resolves the problem quickly. Aerator clogs are particularly common in homes with hard water, which describes much of the Woodstock area. The fix is simple and inexpensive when this is the cause.

Several other issues can cause low pressure at specific faucets. Partially closed shutoff valves under the sink may not deliver full flow to the faucet. Kinked or damaged supply lines restrict water flow even when valves are fully open. Cartridge problems can reduce flow when internal passages get partially blocked by mineral deposits or debris. Whole-house pressure issues affect every fixture, suggesting problems beyond the individual faucet. Plumb Medic diagnoses pressure problems systematically to identify the actual cause.

Pressure issues affecting multiple fixtures point to broader system problems. Failed pressure regulators allow incoming pressure to vary or drop. Water heater issues can affect hot water pressure specifically. Pipe corrosion in older galvanized steel systems gradually reduces flow throughout the house. Plumb Medic checks system pressure at multiple points during diagnosis when needed. We address the actual cause rather than just treating symptoms. Sometimes the answer is simple aerator cleaning; other times broader system work is needed. Our recommendations match the actual problem in each case.

Faucet noises usually indicate specific mechanical or hydraulic problems. Whistling sounds when water flows often come from worn cartridges with internal turbulence or obstructions. The high-pitched sound results from water passing through partially blocked passages. Replacing the cartridge typically eliminates the whistling completely. Older cartridges produce this symptom more often as they age and accumulate mineral deposits internally.

Water hammer sounds, characterized by banging or thumping when faucets close quickly, point to system pressure issues rather than the faucet itself. The sudden stop of water flow creates pressure waves that travel through pipes, causing the banging sound. Water hammer arrestors installed at appropriate locations dampen these waves and prevent damage to pipes and connected appliances. Plumb Medic installs hammer arrestors when diagnosing recurring water hammer issues. Modern washing machines and dishwashers also have built-in solenoid valves that close quickly, contributing to water hammer in some homes.

Other faucet noises have specific causes worth investigating. Screeching sounds during water flow can come from worn washers in compression faucets, easily fixed with washer replacement. Vibrating sounds may indicate loose mounting hardware or air in the supply lines. Gurgling noises when water flows often suggest drain venting issues rather than faucet problems. Plumb Medic diagnoses unusual noises during service calls and recommends appropriate repairs. Some noises are harmless, while others indicate developing problems that benefit from prompt attention. Our team explains what each sound means and whether action is needed.

Quality faucets from reputable manufacturers typically operate 8 to 12 years before any significant repair is needed. Cartridge replacement is the most common repair and usually marks the first repair point in a faucet’s life. Hard water accelerates wear on cartridges and other internal components, with annual flushing or descaling helping extend life. Daily usage levels affect lifespan, with heavily used kitchen faucets wearing faster than guest bathroom fixtures. Quality of installation also matters, with properly installed faucets lasting longer than those with installation issues.

Premium faucets often go 15 to 20 years between major repairs when properly maintained. Brands like Kohler, Moen, Delta, and Grohe offer products with quality internal components that hold up well. Cartridges in premium fixtures typically use ceramic discs that resist wear better than older washer-and-seat designs. Replacement cartridges restore like-new performance when wear eventually occurs. Many premium faucets have lifetime warranties on parts, recognizing the long-term value of quality construction. Repair investments in quality faucets usually pay back many times over.

Budget faucets often need repair within 3 to 7 years of installation. Cheap cartridges wear faster, internal seals fail earlier, and parts availability becomes problematic for older models. Repair costs on budget faucets sometimes approach replacement costs, especially when multiple components have failed. Plumb Medic provides honest assessments during repair calls. We recommend repair when it makes sense and replacement with quality fixtures when ongoing repairs do not justify the investment. Customers appreciate the honest guidance based on their specific situation.

Some basic faucet repairs are reasonable for handy homeowners with appropriate tools. Aerator cleaning is straightforward and requires only basic tools. Cartridge replacement on common brands is documented in YouTube tutorials and manufacturer guides. Simple O-ring replacement on accessible faucets can be a DIY project for those willing to follow instructions carefully. Many homeowners successfully complete these repairs without professional help. Others run into complications that turn quick projects into multi-day frustrations.

Several factors complicate DIY faucet repair. Identifying the correct replacement part requires knowing the brand, model, and specific cartridge style. Modern faucets often have proprietary cartridge designs that look similar but are not interchangeable. Old corroded parts can break during disassembly, turning a simple repair into a major project. Cross-threading or overtightening connections during reassembly causes leaks that show up later. Tight spaces under sinks make every step more difficult. Each potential issue can derail a DIY repair attempt.

Plumb Medic makes professional repair affordable through transparent pricing, financing, and discounts. Our technicians carry common parts on every truck, completing most repairs in one visit. The diagnostic fee is waived when we handle the work, and our repairs are backed by warranty. Manufacturer warranties on premium faucets often require professional repair to remain valid. The total cost difference between DIY and professional repair is smaller than people expect, especially after factoring in tools, parts, and time. Calling a licensed plumber is often the smarter choice. We handle the work efficiently while you focus on other things.
