Plumb Medic is my go to for water leaks and other plumbing issues. I have used them on multiple occasions to solve tricky issues that are typical of older homes. They were quick to come out and assess and quick to complete the project. Cameron, Cole, and Corey were polite, diligent, and frankly good at what they do. Happily recommend Plumb Medic to others and will use them should I have a new issue arise.

Thank you so much for the great service. I called that morning because my toilet was continuously running, and you came out that day. I rely on reviews a good bit but rarely write them. The glowing reviews are what led me to call Cameron/Plumb Medic LLC to get an estimate for installing a new Toto toilet that I ordered and had sitting in boxes in my hallway to replace my 43 year old Briggs toilet, yes 43 years ! Cameron returned my call immediately, was very knowledgeable and gave me a price that beat 2 other local plumbing companies even offering a discount for 2 toilets at once. I only had the one but am expecting delivery tomorrow for the second one. Cain and Eric came the next day to install my toilet. They were down to earth, easy to talk to , professional hardworking guys that knew their stuff! Plus, they are animal lovers like myself. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure having them at my house. They installed my new Toto and I plan to try to request them for the second Toto install. After using numerous plumbers/plumbing companies through the years I am happy and relieved to have found Plumb Medic and plan on making them my "go to " plumbers. This may sound odd but I do love my Toto !!! Barb Above review was several years ago. This 2nd review is from March 13 2026. Cameron and Corey came and installed a new Bradford White water heater for me. They did an exceptional job with attention to detail. Cameron noticed water seeping from an old connection above his work, accessed it and made the repair at no extra cost. I asked about replacing my 40 plus year old handle on the main water shut off to house at back of basement. Cameron was thoughtful enough to suggest that he could move it lower so I could reach it without a ladder -hopefully I won’t ever need to. He replaced it with a ball valve handle which is superior to the old school round handle that exterior faucets use and gave me a discount since they were installing the water heater. I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience. Plumb Medic , Cameron and crew are the BEST.

Cain and Eric were schedule to come and replace a weird leaking outdoor faucet and replace some stuff in a bathroom. They did this in the usual timely and professional manner. They noticed an indoor leak and opened the wall to find a bigger problem. Thank goodness and a mitigation company was called. At the same time I had a sewer problem and they quickly got Cole out to ream and camera the sewer. Highly recommend this service.

Called Plumb Medic after I got a 1300 water bill assuming I had a leak. Cole came out in a POURING rainstorm. Checked our meter outside getting soaked several times after shutting off house water, and came back to tell me we had no leak and there was no charge. I was shocked he would come out and not charge me. I will use Plumb Medic in the future for every plumbing issue. That’s amazing customer service.

I called Plumb Medic and after a brief discussion we were scheduled for a new install 2 days later. They were on time, on budget and the area was spic-and-span when they finished up. The quality of the joints and connections of the new copper piping needed was impressive - it was like a work of art. Plumb Medic was great to work with. We had a water issue and they came out quickly, figured out exactly what was going on, and explained everything clearly along the way. The technician was patient, knowledgeable, and really on top of his work. He also referred us to a water remediation company to dry out the affected areas, which made the whole situation much easier to handle. I really appreciated the professionalism and friendliness they showed throughout the process. Overall, a very good experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

The entire experience was great from start to finish. It started with a phone call with Cameron. He gave me an estimate and when I mentioned I was getting estimates from other businesses he provided me with several questions to ask them. Next step was an in person estimate. Cole came out, gave an estimate then emailed me what we had discussed. When Cole came out with one other person (I forget his name) they were early, finished the work soner than they said, cleaned up then the bill was what we were quoted. Great service, great people and reasonable prices. I would recommend them to everyone adn will use the again when we need them.

We have used Plumb Medic several times over the years for our plumbing needs. Cameron and his team have always been honest and professional. Recently we had a toilet installed in which Cameron himself came out and installed. He arrived within the window he promised given the busy holiday season, which is extremely rare these days. There were some defects with toilet we purchased from Home Depot, which caused the install to take longer than expected. He had mentioned prior to coming out that his kid had a Christmas program that day, but should be able to install the toilet in time. Due to the toilet defect I’m pretty sure he missed his kid’s performance, which killed me inside. I wished he would have told me, because I would have told him to go and come back tomorrow. This just proves Cameron’s dedication to his craft and his customers. We appreciate him and his family for his dedication and highly recommend him and his team to anyone who has plumbing needs. Thank you again Cameron and we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sewer Line Installation in Woodstock, GA

Sewer line installation connects home plumbing to municipal sewer systems or septic tanks. Proper slope is critical for waste flow, with most lines requiring quarter-inch drop per foot of horizontal run. Insufficient slope causes solids to settle and create clogs, while excessive slope can cause liquid to outrun solids and leave waste behind. Pipe size depends on home size and fixture count, with 4-inch diameter typical for residential applications. Plumb Medic calculates appropriate sizing and slope based on specific project requirements. Quality installation upfront prevents recurring problems for decades.

PVC sewer pipe has become the standard material for new installations. Schedule 40 PVC handles most residential sewer applications with proven longevity. Solvent welded connections create permanent bonds when properly prepared and assembled. Material costs are reasonable, and installation is straightforward for trained crews. Resistance to most chemicals and waste materials makes PVC durable for sewer service. Lifespan estimates of 50 to 100 years apply to quality PVC installations. Plumb Medic uses PVC for most sewer line installations.

ABS pipe serves as an alternative to PVC in some applications. The black plastic pipe is lighter than PVC and uses different solvent for joining. Some jurisdictions specify one material over the other based on local code preferences. ABS handles cold weather slightly better than PVC in some installations. Both materials provide reliable sewer service when properly installed. Plumb Medic uses appropriate materials based on local code requirements and customer preferences.

Cast iron sewer pipe served older homes for decades and continues to perform in many applications. The material absorbs sound better than plastic, reducing drain noise. Cast iron typically lasts 75 to 100 years in many applications when properly installed. Replacement of damaged cast iron sections sometimes uses PVC if compatible adapters are available. New installations rarely use cast iron for cost reasons, though it remains an option for specific situations. Plumb Medic works with cast iron during repair and partial replacement projects.

Excavation work for sewer line installation requires careful planning and execution. Utility location services identify existing underground systems before any digging begins. Trench depth depends on local frost line and home configuration, typically 2 to 6 feet for residential applications. Trench width allows adequate working room while minimizing surface disruption. Bedding material under the pipe ensures proper support throughout the line length. Plumb Medic uses appropriate excavation equipment scaled to the specific project.

Trenchless installation methods minimize landscape disruption when site conditions allow. Pipe bursting replaces existing lines by pulling new pipe through the path of the old one, breaking the original pipe outward. Directional drilling installs new lines underground with minimal surface excavation. Pipe lining inserts a flexible liner inside existing pipe, creating a new pipe within the old one. Each method has specific applications and requirements. Plumb Medic evaluates whether trenchless methods fit specific situations. Sometimes traditional excavation makes more sense based on conditions.

Connections to municipal sewer mains require coordination with sewer authorities. Tap permits, inspection requirements, and connection specifications vary by jurisdiction. Some areas require specific contractors approved by the utility for tap work. Flow tests verify proper installation and identify any issues before final acceptance. Plumb Medic handles utility coordination as part of installation projects. Our experience with local authorities streamlines the permit and inspection process.

Final inspection and testing confirm installation integrity before backfilling and surface restoration. Air pressure or water pressure testing identifies any leaks or improperly sealed joints. Visual inspection through camera verifies pipe interior condition and proper slope throughout. Backfilling proceeds only after successful testing and any required corrections. Surface restoration returns landscaping to acceptable condition based on project specifications. Documentation supports warranty and home sale records. Quality work and proper testing prevent future problems.

Why Hire A Licensed Plumber For Your Sewer Line Installation

Sewer line installation involves significant excavation, code compliance, and utility coordination that demand professional expertise. Plumb Medic technicians know how to plan installations for proper slope, support, and connection. Improper sewer installation creates ongoing problems with backups, root intrusion, and structural damage. Mistakes in slope calculations affect performance for the entire pipe lifetime, sometimes decades. Code requirements include specific materials, fittings, cleanouts, and connection methods that licensed plumbers understand. Permits and inspections are required for sewer work in nearly every jurisdiction. Insurance coverage often depends on professional installation documentation. Damage to existing utilities during excavation creates liability and replacement costs. The waived diagnostic fee, military and senior discounts, and Wisetack financing make professional service affordable. Plumb Medic provides upfront pricing, project planning, and warranty coverage. Calling a licensed plumber for sewer installation protects your home, property, and investment in long-lasting plumbing infrastructure.

Most Common Sewer Line Installation Questions

Sewer line installation raises significant questions about cost, timeline, and what to expect during major projects. Below are clear answers to the questions Woodstock homeowners ask most often before committing to sewer installation work.

Sewer line installation costs vary significantly based on length, depth, and method used. Standard residential installations typically run $3,000 to $8,000 for traditional excavation projects. Longer runs or those requiring deeper excavation cost more, often reaching $10,000 to $15,000 for complex situations. Trenchless installation methods sometimes cost more per foot but save on landscape restoration. Connection to municipal sewer mains adds tap fees that vary by jurisdiction. Plumb Medic provides detailed estimates based on specific project requirements.

Several factors affect total installation costs significantly. Distance from home to sewer main affects pipe length and total project scope. Depth of installation affects excavation difficulty and equipment needs. Soil conditions influence excavation costs, with rocky or unstable soil increasing complexity. Surface restoration including landscaping, driveway, or hardscape repair adds substantial costs in some situations. Permit fees, inspection costs, and tap fees vary by jurisdiction. Each factor gets evaluated during project planning.

The diagnostic fee is waived when we handle the installation, keeping costs lower. Wisetack financing covers sewer line projects through manageable monthly payments. Military and senior discounts apply to all sewer line work. Insurance coverage sometimes applies when sudden failures cause the need for replacement. Documentation supports any insurance claim processing. The investment in quality installation pays off through decades of reliable service. Plumb Medic provides transparent pricing with no surprise charges. Customers receive clear documentation of all work performed.

Sewer line installation typically takes 2 to 5 days for residential projects, though timelines vary significantly based on conditions. Simple short installations from home to existing tap can complete in 1 to 2 days. Average projects involving 50 to 100 feet of pipe typically take 3 to 4 days. Longer runs or those requiring extensive excavation extend to 5 days or more. Trenchless methods sometimes complete faster than traditional excavation. Plumb Medic provides accurate timeline estimates during project planning.

Several factors affect actual installation duration. Excavation conditions including soil type, depth requirements, and obstacles affect digging time significantly. Weather impacts excavation work, with rain causing delays in some situations. Permit and inspection scheduling affects total timeline though not direct work hours. Surface restoration after installation adds time at project completion. Coordination with utility services for tap work sometimes extends timelines. Each project has specific factors that influence duration.

Plumb Medic minimizes service interruption during installation projects. Existing sewer service typically remains operational until the new line is ready for connection. Brief interruption during the actual changeover gets scheduled to minimize household impact. Backup options like portable facilities can be arranged for longer interruptions when needed. Customers can plan around the project timeline once specific dates are confirmed. Final inspection and surface restoration complete projects properly. Quality work takes appropriate time, but we work efficiently to minimize total project duration.

PVC has become the dominant material for new sewer line installations and offers excellent performance. Schedule 40 PVC handles residential sewer applications reliably with lifespan estimates of 50 to 100 years. Solvent welded connections create permanent leak-free bonds when properly executed. Resistance to most chemicals, waste materials, and root intrusion makes PVC durable for sewer service. Cost effectiveness and ease of installation make PVC the standard choice for most residential applications. Plumb Medic uses PVC for the majority of sewer line installations.

Several other materials serve specific applications. ABS plastic provides similar performance to PVC in some jurisdictions. Cast iron offers traditional appeal and excellent sound dampening but costs significantly more for materials and labor. HDPE high-density polyethylene serves trenchless installations through pipe bursting methods. Each material has specific advantages for particular situations. Material choice affects installation methods, costs, and long-term performance significantly.

Plumb Medic recommends materials based on application requirements, local code, and customer preferences. PVC works for most residential applications successfully and economically. Specific situations sometimes warrant other materials based on conditions or preferences. Local building codes specify acceptable materials in some jurisdictions. Our recommendations reflect honest assessment of what works best for each specific situation rather than preferences for any particular material. Customers benefit from professional guidance on material selection. The investment in quality materials pays off through decades of reliable service.

Sewer line lifespan varies significantly based on material and conditions. Modern PVC installations typically last 50 to 100 years when properly installed. Cast iron sewer lines often serve 75 to 100 years in good conditions. Clay tile pipes used in older installations sometimes last 50 to 60 years before significant problems develop. Concrete sewer pipes have similar lifespan to clay. Each material has specific failure modes that affect actual service life.

Several environmental factors affect sewer line lifespan. Tree root intrusion causes significant damage to older clay, concrete, and cast iron pipes. Cracks or joints allow roots to enter, where they grow and create blockages. Ground shifting from soil conditions, settlement, or seismic activity stresses pipe joints over time. Heavy traffic over sewer lines from vehicles or construction equipment can damage pipes. Chemical exposure from harsh cleaners or industrial waste accelerates deterioration. Each factor adds to total failure risk over decades.

Plumb Medic identifies aging sewer lines through video camera inspection. Internal pipe condition reveals corrosion, cracks, root intrusion, and other developing problems. Sometimes spot repairs address specific issues, while broader replacement makes more sense for systems with widespread problems. Our recommendations balance immediate repair needs with long-term value. Customers benefit from understanding their sewer line condition and projected service life. Documentation of inspection findings supports planning for future replacement when appropriate. Quality work addresses both current problems and long-term reliability concerns.

Trenchless installation methods minimize excavation by installing or replacing pipes through limited access points. Pipe bursting replaces existing lines by pulling new pipe through the path of the old one, breaking the original outward into surrounding soil. Directional drilling installs new pipes underground from one access point to another with minimal surface disruption. Pipe lining inserts a flexible liner inside existing pipe, curing in place to create a new pipe within the old one. Each method has specific applications and requirements.

Several factors determine whether trenchless methods fit specific situations. Existing pipe condition affects whether lining or bursting can work effectively. Soil conditions influence directional drilling feasibility. Distance and depth requirements affect method selection. Connection points and access requirements limit applications in some situations. Cost comparisons between trenchless and traditional excavation depend significantly on landscape restoration needs. Plumb Medic evaluates each situation to recommend appropriate methods.

Plumb Medic offers trenchless solutions when conditions allow effective application. Customer benefits include minimal landscape damage, faster installation in many cases, and reduced surface restoration costs. Trees, driveways, hardscape, and mature landscaping benefit from trenchless preservation. Some installations may not be candidates for trenchless methods due to specific conditions. We explain options honestly during project planning. Sometimes traditional excavation makes more sense based on total project economics. Customers benefit from understanding all available options before making decisions.

Yes, sewer line installation requires permits in nearly every jurisdiction including Woodstock and Cherokee County. Permits ensure work meets code requirements and gets inspected by qualified officials. Skipping permits creates problems during home sales, may affect insurance coverage, and can lead to fines or required reinstallation. The permit process is straightforward when handled by licensed contractors. Plumb Medic pulls permits as part of standard installation procedures.

Several specific requirements typically apply to sewer line work. Pipe materials must meet code specifications. Slope requirements ensure proper waste flow throughout the line. Cleanout placement at specific intervals provides access for future maintenance. Connection methods to municipal sewers follow utility specifications. Inspection happens at multiple project stages, including before backfilling. Plumb Medic handles all permit and inspection coordination as part of installation projects.

Unpermitted sewer work creates significant problems beyond legal issues. Home buyers and inspectors flag unpermitted plumbing work, which can derail sales or reduce offers significantly. Insurance companies may deny claims related to unpermitted work. Future repair work may face complications when work history cannot be verified. The minor cost savings from skipping permits creates major financial risks. Plumb Medic includes permit costs in transparent pricing. Documentation provides records for warranty and home sale purposes. Our installations consistently pass inspection because we install correctly the first time.

Sewer line installation is one of the most complex residential plumbing projects and rarely suitable for DIY work. The combination of excavation requirements, code compliance complexity, slope calculations, and utility coordination demands professional expertise. Permits typically require licensed contractors for sewer work. Pressure testing and inspection requirements need specific knowledge. Connections to municipal sewer mains often require utility-approved contractors. Each requirement makes DIY work impractical for most homeowners.

Several specific risks make DIY sewer work particularly problematic. Damage to existing utilities during excavation creates liability and replacement costs. Improper slope causes ongoing performance problems. Failed connections create leaks and backups. Code violations affect home value and may require reinstallation. Insurance complications arise when claims relate to unpermitted or improperly performed work. Each error compounds the difficulties of DIY sewer work.

Plumb Medic makes professional sewer line installation accessible through transparent pricing, financing, and discounts. The diagnostic fee is waived when we handle the work, and our installations are backed by warranty plus permit documentation. Manufacturer warranties on materials require professional installation. Insurance coverage often depends on professional work documentation. The total cost difference between DIY and professional work is small compared to the risks and complications involved. Calling a licensed plumber is the only sensible choice for sewer line installation. Our experience and equipment ensure quality results that protect your home and investment for decades.

Sewer line installation begins with thorough planning and utility location. Project mapping identifies optimal pipe routing, depth requirements, and connection points. Utility location services mark existing underground systems to prevent damage during excavation. Permit applications get submitted with required project documentation. Materials and equipment scheduling ensures availability when needed. Plumb Medic handles all preliminary work as part of installation projects.

Excavation work prepares the trench for new pipe installation. Trench depth and width follow project specifications and safety requirements. Bedding material gets placed in the trench bottom to provide proper pipe support. Pipe sections get assembled and lowered into position with appropriate slope verified at each connection. Joints get inspected for proper assembly and sealing. Connection points to existing systems or municipal mains get completed with appropriate fittings.

Testing and final completion confirm installation quality. Air pressure or water pressure testing identifies leaks or improperly sealed joints. Camera inspection through the new line verifies interior condition and proper slope. Inspection by code officials happens before backfilling, with corrections completed if needed. Backfilling and compaction restore the trench to original grade. Surface restoration returns landscaping or hardscape to acceptable condition. Final documentation provides records for warranty and home sale purposes. Customers receive complete information about the installed system.
